Only an Idea

To be wanted but never truly known.

Never liked for who I am, only desired for what I appear to be.

They admire the idea of me—the version they create in their minds, the aesthetic they assign to me before they’ve even tried to understand me.

They want the surface, the allure, the feeling I give them—never the depths, the thoughts, the silences between.
