A Stranger I Wanted to Love

I’m frustrated.

Frustrated because I’ve never been in a situation quite so ridiculous—one I walked into willingly.

I want to love him — a longing to love someone who is, in truth, a stranger. But the longing is there, and it never was before. But, let’s be honest—it’s not for who he is, but for who I imagine he could be to me.

And maybe that’s why it never happened —because love can’t grow in the space between knowing and dreaming.
