We Were Girls Together

“Bittersweet—the word that lingers when I think of girlhood, a nostalgic blur of growing pains.
As children, we never question these bonds; they simply exist, effortless and pure. But adulthood carries a certain weight, one that complicates even the deepest bonds. Complicated—that’s the word that comes to mind.
So many memories lost to the absence of girlhood. Carefree laughter. Late-night confessions. Conversations that once felt like the whole world.
A bittersweet truth—womanhood demands a quiet kind of mourning. Because I am no longer a girl.
Because the friends who shared my girlhood are no longer here.
I mourn what once was.
Girls who grew together, are now women walking separate paths.

But what a privilege it was to have had that time—to have been placed in each other’s lives by God Himself. A fleeting season, yet one so full, so meaningful. How lucky I am to have lived it, together with those girls.
